Biomimicry (from bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate) is a new discipline that studies and imitates nature’s best ideas to solve complex human problems.
At it’s core the idea behind biomimetic design is that failures are fossils and what surrounds us is the secret to success. What surrounds us are the consummate engineers.
“People forget that homeostasis is applicable to the economy, that the economy has its own metabolic process or system of energy conversion and entropy.
Just as the biosphere maintains and regenerates itself so too does our economy. Peer-to-Peer lending and the gift economy (gifts not of money but the use of it) are all full reserve interest free banking systems, restorative systems our economy moves to in lean economic times to regenerate and maintain itself.
Ecological and economic efficiency are two sides of the same coin. Both optimally allocate resources while minimizing waste. What I’ve created is nothing new (an interest free, full reserve way to bank) I’m just providing another conduit. Crowdsourcing built to retail scale.
“But what about interest rates!” the people say.
Relax. It’ll work itself because, it already does (revisit the image above).
